Alexander McQueen and Manchester Metropolitan University have come together to set a creative and dynamic brief. Students were invited to visit the Alexander McQueen studios to participate in creative workshops and view the seminal exhibition Roses at the London flagship store.
The brief asks both TIP & Fashion students to explore and interpret key themes from their AW12 collection: A Beautiful Future using paper and a limited colour palette of Ice White, Noir and pink. Working both collaboratively and individually the students have explored given themes surrounding the AW12 collection whilst applying the brand’s fundamental creative approaches to the design & process: these approaches include embroidery, textile applications, cloth processes, and poetic narratives whilst using the versatile medium of paper.
